A good introduction to French, with lots of activities and clear explanations of grammar and usage. Cultural information is blended into the lessons, and the new vocabulary is clearly laid out. As always, creating flash cards and practicing the new vocab is essential. The CDs are voiced well, except for the annoying 'traffic' that appears in the background, whether it's a coffeeshop or on the street. Yes, it's more 'realistic', but one wants to hear what the people are saying! Recommended overall. A rare treat to see a university-level textbook that is so accessible to the self-learner.… (mais)
