We are all faced with hardships in our lives and we often letting them rule our lives. After you read, The Broken Miracle, you may look at your life differently. When Paul Cardell was born, he only had half of a heart. He had numerous surgeries and close calls with his health but he didn't let his condition rule his life. The overwhelming reason that I did not like this book was the writing, though the story was very interesting.

The writing itself was clunky and it felt like the author was just thumbing through a thesaurus to see how many adjectives he could shove into the sentences. There were some sentences that flowed really well, but were then followed by what looked like an eighth grader's English class project.

There were some scenes that just did not connect well with preceding ones, causing me to be thrown out of the story and wonder what was going on for a second.

Another point of dislike is how the dialogue felt way too formal for casual conversation between characters who are familiar with each other and how in some cases, the words used (though technically used correctly in a grammatical sense) felt wrong.

Though the premise seemed interesting, and was the reason I bought the book and its sequels, I was extremely disappointed in its execution and will not be continuing on with the series.

This book strikes me as something a very inexperienced author wrote. I won't write off Netto because he definitely has ideas that are interesting, I was excited for this book based off a little blurb, but his writing needs more emotion and flow, the pacing was a little weird, and the dialogue a little awkward. Hopefully with a little more experience his writing style will match his imagination.
