Pequena biografia: 1942-ല്‍ ഫ്രഞ്ചധീനപ്രദേശമായ മയ്യഴിയില്‍ ജനിച്ചു. 1961-ല്‍ ആദ്യകഥ വെളിച്ചം കണ്ടു. ഈ ലോകം, അതിലൊരു മനുഷ്യന്‍ കേരള സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി അവാര്‍ഡും മയ്യഴിപ്പുഴയുടെ തീരങ്ങളില്‍ എം.പി. പോള്‍ അവാര്‍ഡും മുട്ടത്തുവര്‍ക്കി അവാര്‍ഡും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വികൃതികള്‍ സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി അവാര്‍ഡും എന്‍.വി. പുരസ്‌കാരവും നേടി. സാഹിത്യരംഗത്തെ സംഭാവനകളെ മുന്‍നിര്‍ത്തി ഫ്രഞ്ച് ഗവണ്‍മെന്റിന്റെ ഷെവലിയര്‍ അവാര്‍ഡ് (1998). ദല്‍ഹിയില്‍ ഫ്രഞ്ച് എംബസ്സിയില്‍ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥനായിരുന്നു. കേശവന്റെ വിലാപങ്ങള്‍ എന്ന നോവല്‍ 2003-ലെ വയലാര്‍ അവാര്‍ഡിന് അര്‍ഹമായി. കേരള സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി പ്രസിഡന്റായി സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

loved the story. wasted some time trying to connect the locations to the familiar places in Mahe. and took a while to adjust to the French words used.

was a great experience. touched my heart at some point. superb description of different types of people then. (now?)

loved the way it explored the history of a place through the lives of its people.and particularly one or two families who might have played a huge role in them.
