Simon and Garfunkel: Old Friends : A Dual Biography de Joe Morella
Excellent book with information that I didn't know and glad I learned. While I wish that Art Garfunkel could have been portrayed as more of a doer rather than a taker of what Paul Simon had to offer, I implicitly believe that is true. I grew up with them and believe they had a tremendous influence in making popular music more literate and intelligent.
This was sprinkled with typos and other copy editing mistakes, AND they had the gall to suggest that The Great Dictator is not a great movie. Nuff said.
This is the usual celebrity biography. Includes a lot of gossip but when it comes to her marriage to Ronald Reagan, I think there was a real attempt to give both sides of the story. Because of her connections to the past president, we get a brief biography of him as well as we follow his career in parallel to hers.
It is always fun to read the views of others of movies you enjoyed or did not enjoy. I also appreciated the behind the scenes views of some of the films she made. One also learns about the writers, make-up artists, directors and others behind the scene.… (mais)

If you like old movies and are interested in the stars lives, this is a great read. It gives you a peek into the lives of Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, William Powell and Jean Harlow and how their lives were intertwined.
