The sequel to Thirty One Brothers and Sisters, Nomusa is thinking of a career, as a witch doctor. At the same time, she meets Buselapi, a nurse. Ever unconventional, Nomusa violates a Zulu taboo and spies on the manhood ritual in which her brother Mdingi has his ears pierced. Mdingi's ears become dangerously infected and Nomusa wonders if it's a result of her having spied on the ceremony. When the witch doctor is unable to cure Mdingi, she asks for her father to send for Buselapi who was able to cure the infection, inspiring Nomusa to become a nurse.… (mais)
