A good, quick read. Stubborn characters though.

The Teacher’s Christmas Secret by Emma Miller has Cora and Tobit in for a bumpy ride. Cora Kauffman finally gets her chance to be a teacher. Unfortunately, Tobit Lapp, the current teacher, insists on Cora following his lesson plans and letting him grade the papers. The author has created great characters for this series. I enjoy spending time with them. The Kauffman family is always entertaining. I laughed often while reading the story. I like how faith was weaved into the story. We get to see that our timing is not always God’s timing, and that God answers our prayers just not in the way we expected. We also see that untruths and secrets have a way of being revealed despite our attempts to keep them buried in the past. The Teacher’s Christmas Secret is the third book in the Seven Amish Sisters series. It can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading each book in this charming series. I am eager for Henry’s story. The Teacher’s Christmas Secret is a cute story with teaching troubles, boisterous boys, sympathetic sisters, a surprising secret, a Christmas presentation, and a rocky romance.… (mais)

Abigail’s young son is a handful, but she takes exception when the school teacher points it out to her. But even she must agree with him, eventually. Abigail, a widow, has recently moved with her son to her parents’ home, to help out with her parents’ health challenges, and she feels it has been hard on her son. She makes excuses for his bad behavior, but it is not long before she realizes that the teacher is only wanting to be of help to her and her son. A romance begins to blossom, but is threatened by circumstances they both feel are beyond their control. Or maybe not. It’s a tender story, not without problems, but certainly with solutions, if they only look deep enough. Likable characters in an interesting plot combine for an enjoyable tale of romance.… (mais)

Eve and Levi wed under rather strange circumstances. Now, his father and the community wonder about the hasty wedding. Eve and Levi must find their way to each other in this marriage of convenience. After a tumultuous beginning, this story settles into a slow paced narrative. The main characters are likable, the romance is sweet, and the ending is predictable.
