Beautifully illustrated with full-color reproductions. This brief book traces Chagall’s life from birth to death, and discusses the development and impact of his work in the world of art. An excellent introduction to this fascinating and complicated artist. Highly recommended.
If you've ever been drawn to art and culture in Weimar Germany but don't know much about it, then this book is as good an introduction as any. The prose is a little stilted but the illustrations from this fascinating era should leave you wanting to investigate further.
