This was a book that was highly recommended and has been making its rounds around Booktube. I really had high hopes for this one and that it would be a win of a read. I will say that I have been wanting to read more Sapphic romance and in some respects this book definitely delivered but I had a rough time with this one. It definitely wasn't as what I had hoped for. It felt so lackluster of a read. I just didn't connect with it like I would have hoped for. Sometimes when books are too hyped I just have a hard time with them. But I also struggle with novellas when there needs to be more relationship development. This romance was sweet and endearing but it just needed more time on it.

I had a fun time with this one, and am very curious about the connecting characters but definitely will explore this author's other works.

Most of this novel is freaking awesome, particularly for weather nerds like me. You'll probably enjoy it if the premise appeals to you, so don't let this review stop you! I'm glad I read it and I'd do it again knowing what I know now.

That said, the tornado representation was better than the mental health rep. Y'all who wish for more tornadoes here? No, that's not how weather works. This isn't a ridiculous Hollywood version of tornado threats. I really appreciated that in this novel. Yes, I am a weather nerd. :)

While the novel's pretty good regarding Guthrie's panic disorder, the Epilogue is too simplistic. It didn't get the loving, aware writing it needed. Whoever was editor, shame on you for missing that weather awareness does not just vanish. I tell you, as someone who's still aware what to do in an earthquake, who still hates dry summers fire season, and who's lived in annual hurricane threat for over thirty years; the vigilance and physical reactions do not disappear. And it has to be worse for someone with a weather-specific panic disorder. So read this novel aware of the failing at the end, and tell others, because that is how we make it better going forward.

favorite from the series so far and my second McLellan's book. I can see her brand all over this book-everyone's queer (MC's are both bi/pan - not clear, secondary characters all are also queer), sex toys and lots of dirty talk.

I loved this novella so fucking much!
it's so sexy and sweet, I just couldn't stop smiling
very queer and sex positive, body positive, inclusive and with explicit consent on every page. Wonderful!
highly recommend
