Daisy Phillips admits that she is an old lady, but she sure does not want to be treated like one. Before giving any consideration to her son’s suggestion that it may be time to move into a “retirement community” Daisy decides to look for her first love. A man who disappeared from her life during WWII and has not been heard from since. The only thing she has to help is an engraved pocket watch and her estranged and dysfunctional family halfway around the world.

Another absolutely charming book from a first time author. This is definitely one to read in front of the fire with a cup of tea … you won’t want to put it down until you reach the last page.

This story is of Daisy Phillips an older women who dosn't want to be just an "old lady" to everyone, her friends and family included. The people closest to her in her life are the same people forcing her into making huge changes in her life. While a personal decision to travel to the United States brings about the biggest changes on all.

This novel has a quirky humor to it, and while it was a really quick, heart-warming story, i felt it moved a little slow and that there wasn't enough to really keep me enthralled in the novel. The characters were easy to like and i liked the unique-ness that they each brought to the story. The plot itself had some really good message as well, that you only life once, that lifes too short to not do what's important for you, and also doing what makes your happy for you and nobody else.

Overall. this was worth picking up and reading, i just don't feel its a book you need to run right out and buy. This is Stacey McGlynns' Debut Novel and i look forward to seeing what else she has in store for us.
