I have had the pleasure of reading the previous books from C S McDonald’s series, The Owl’s Nest Mysteries. It was exciting to have the opportunity to read the latest installment A Felonious Finale (The Owl's Nest Mysteries). I was far from being disappointed. It was fun to catch up with Alexa Owl and the angel detective, Bobby Starr. It was great to be introduced to the newest character, Cliff Slater. This is one of those stories that has the good mix of adventure, intrigue, mystery, suspense, and entertaining humor. It was easy for me to be engaged right from Chapter 1 and was left guessing what would happen next all the way to the very last page. It is not one that I could predict what the following scenes could be like. I giggled and smiled from time to time. I loved this delightful book to read.

I am giving A Felonious Finale (The Owl's Nest Mysteries) a very well deserved five plus stars. I have no doubt fans and lovers of the cozy mystery genre will love it as much as me. I am hoping there will be more to come this series by C S McDonald. I believe this one is definitely worth a read and not to be missed.

I love Bobby, Alexa, and Winnie. I can't get enough of these three. Winnie does help play a role in Bobby and Alexa solving the cases. Yet, she does it her style with a heaping side of sarcasm. Winnie is my spirit animal.

At this point, Alexa and Bobby have found their groove in working with each other. Alexa keeps Bobby grounded. I love meeting all of the quirky characters along the way. Each time I read a book with these two, I feel like I am transported back in time.

Readers of cozy mysteries need to check out these books. I recommend them. They are fast reads for me. Good storylines and great characters that you will love.… (mais)

I actually read this series out of order. I started with book two and three and now am finally reading book one. This just goes to show you that you can read these books in any order. I have really enjoyed Alexa and Bobby and was sad when I finished book three. So, this is actually a nice reprieve to revisit them again with book one and where it all started. Winnie is still making me laugh. I never know what is going to come out of her mouth.

Alexa sure found her knack for solving murder cases. She and Bobby worked well in how they assessed each case. Although, props do need to go to Winnie as well. She really was a great help Alexa on putting all the pieces together.

The other books I read but this is the first one where I listened to the audio version. The narrator, Maren Swenson Waxenberg did such a great job of voicing all the characters, even Bobby's voice. I enjoyed the audio version that I may even go back and listen to books two and three on audio as well. Sadly, Maren did pass away.… (mais)
