Arthur Bean, aspiring writer and movie creator, is back again. This sequel in the Arthur Bean stories sees Arthur in love with a girl from summer camp yet still holding a torch for the fickle Kennedy. Arthur and his now best friend Robbie are on a mission to write the best Zombie action movie ever. Under the strict eye and tutorage of the school 's teaching staff, the boys take on what appears to be battle for creative license. Arthur's story is once again narrated through his written assignments and of course his diary, RJ. More of the same style and bravado from the first book in the series, I found this sequel to be lacking somewhat in originality. However, it does have its humour and touching moments. A recommended read for middle school students who may be going through these same relationship struggles.… (mais)

This is a year in the life of grade 7 student Arthur Bean, an aspiring writer in his first year of middle school. They story is told through a series of English assignments, school newspaper articles, and Arthur's personal Reading Journal (RJ). Which becomes more of a diary of Arthur's life experiences and thoughts. I found the book to be heartfelt and most of the entries highlighted Arthur's wit and humour. A bit repetitive in the emphasis on Arthur expressing that he is the best in everything, but nonetheless a recommended read for middle school students and those adults that may want a glimpse into the preteen psyche.… (mais)

Our Teen Reviewer says: This book does a good job of portraying Arthur's life and challenges. I enjoyed this book a lot. I liked the way it was written, the specific phrasing of the dialogue between the characters. Using the school flyers in the book is done creatively. and I think it'd be a perfect book for the age it is marketed for: middle school.

Pros: The story is one preteens and teens will relate to. The writing is really well done. The presentation of different formats (emails, school flyers) is creative and fun.
