The synopsis of this book immediately intrigued me. By the end, I just thought it was an okay book. I enjoyed the characters especially Dylan. There were times when the plot seemed to drag and some of the details seemed unnecessary. But it was still a decent and interesting concept to read about.

August 2, 1995 Jenny boards a plane from NYC to St Louis. When she gets off the plane, it’s August 2, 2020 - 25 years in the future. Her and her fellow passengers have been missing for the last 25 years, only to show up at St Louis’ airport the same age as they boarded the plane. However, life is completely different - friends and family are now 25 years older, technology has completely changed, and the world they knew doesn’t exist. This was actually a fascinating read and I really enjoyed Michelle’s writing. If you’re looking for a book about time travel and how going into the future would look like, I’d recommend this book.… (mais)

Imagine you got on a plane in NYC after a week with your grandparents and are flying back to St. Louis. Perhaps the biggest thing on your mind is whether your sorta boyfriend, Steve, will finally get around to kissing you. Then your world is turned upside down in a second. Your first inkling of something awry is when the guy sitting beside you can't hear the chatter between the pilot and the control tower. When you land, it's 2020, not 1995 as it should be. People your age are parents, technology is so much different, and your fourteen year old brother is 39 and has two kids.
This is Jenny Water's new reality and to compound matters, she learns what happened to her best friend and sorta boyfriend. It's a shocker, but not the biggest she has to face. Everyone has their own theory about what happened during the flight, some think it's a huge hoax, the FBI is scrambling to contain rumors while testing the plane and passengers, and everyone on the plane is hounded by reporters.
Following Jenny as she tries to make sense of it all, deal with heartache, and a budding romance with some unusual qualities, not to mention a huge decision she must make at the end, make this an extremely satisfying story. It's a dandy choice for any library to consider.

Your Life Has Been Delayed is a cute YA Contemporary novel with a time travel twist. That premise is super intriguing!

The story pacing is a bit slow, but I found it picked up after a few certain plot points got ironed out and weren't consistently repeated, glazed over, or withheld because of protecting Jenny.
There is just a hint of romance which was a nice touch, but not really necessary.
With the amount of characters in the book, I found them all fairly well fleshed out (all the important details touched on), but I really would've loved to have gotten more depth into the lives of Jenny's friends and family.

An overall enjoyable read that's very heavy on the YA side as Jenny navigates her teenage life in a new time period with all the ups and downs.

Thank you to Bloomsbury YA for the ARC to read and honestly review.
