** spoiler alert ** I did not want to put this book down and I did not want it to end the way it did. By the end, I was exhausted. I just wanted to throw my hands in the air or choke Buddy Jones and tell him to snap out of it!
The book had me engaged from beginning to end. I loved it. I knew many people similar to Buddy. A product of the atmosphere that they were raised in. Unfortunately, I grew up at a time where many had this mindset. Which, unfortunately still exists today.
There were many opportunities for Buddy to learn from his mistakes and to change his ways. After all he had been through and after all he put others through, I really thought when he hooked up with Suzy he was going to make a turn around. I was for sure the book was going to end happy. But, when I finished reading the book and found that he went back to his own miserable ways, I was very disappointed in him. But, then again, what do you expect?
I absolutely recommend this book. **Note** If you are easily offended by stereotypical thoughts and words, I wouldn't recommend this book, because, there is an underlying message to it and if one is easily offended, they might miss the message and purpose of the book.
Very well-written. Kudos to David Margolis. Interested in reading more from him.
