Riaan Manser

Charming and genuine narrative about the author's cycling trip around the continent of Africa. He's a native South African and wanted to see and get to know his neighbors, and on a day by day, and person by person basis, that's the attitude he took. It reads very much like a diary, yet the prose reads smoothly for all that; it gives his daily encounters and realizations more immediacy. I have enjoyed reading and getting to know the individuals he describes along the way, and am encouraged to hear more voices talking about the good experiences they've had. Read, and enjoy.
