Published by a company that specializes in textbooks for Jewish after-school programs, this book is a good, basic introduction to celebrating Jewish holidays at home. It has prayers in large-font Hebrew, transliteration, and English, some songs with sheet music, recipes, and about discussions for the High Holidays, Sukkot, Hanukkah, Purim, Passover, and Shabbat. It also the secular dates for Jewish holidays in 1987-1992 C.E. The illustrations, gray woodcuts, are not dated. OK, I haven't read it, but it seems like a good, uncomplicated beginners guide and I'm giving it 4 stars.… (mais)
