A solid, fun and cute second chance holiday romance. The characters were relatable and oh so meant to be. The plot was full of travel mishaps and unexpected romance. It just…wasn’t for me unfortunately. I wanted to give it a chance despite my usual avoidance of the “can’t get where they need to go” plot because it has great ratings and sounded so sweet. But after the third setback I think it just got a bit too predictable for me and my anxiety went through the roof. Despite my personal lack of enthusiasm I do recommend this book. I think my rating is 100% a personal thing and has nothing to do with the excellent writing and sapphic holiday romance :)… (mais)

Plot:
Caitlin was supposed to be on a plane out of London and into a new life. But unfortunately, life had other plans, namely a lockdown because of Corona. Trapped in London with no place to stay anymore, she turns to the only person she can think of: her ex-girlfriend Dot. The girlfriend she just broke up with to start her new life. Dot is, understandably, not happy about the situation and about having Caitlin on her couch, but she gives in. And maybe, the global crisis will put the personal one into a new light?

Try Me Again is a cute quick read, almost more of a short story than a novella. While I do think it could have been fleshed out a little more, it is enjoyable.

Abby deve sposarsi con Marcus - che è tanto bravo bello e buono - ma ha la sensazione che c'è qualcosa che non va. Quando conosce Jordan, e la ingaggia per farsi aiutare con i preparativi per il matrimonio, si rende conto via via che sta seguendo il copione di una vita non sua.
Jordan è single, cinica sulle relazioni di coppia che può avere lei, ma non distruttiva nei confronti delle relazioni di coppia altrui. Per questo è il personaggio che mi è piaciuto di più. Perché non fa di tutta l'erba un fascio. La verità è che non si vuole abbastanza bene da scegliere, senza paura, una donna che sappia apprezzarla per la bella persona che è.
Ciascuna delle due si trova davanti a una scelta: cambiare o restare nell'inerzia di sempre.
Marcus è tanto perfetto quanto pallosetto.
Tra le due amiche delle protagoniste, preferisco Karen, "una di quelle persone felici di stare al mondo".
Scene di sesso: sì, un paio. Intenso il primo bacio.
Tanto British humour (giustamente: l'autrice è inglese).
Romanzo rosa lesbo contemporaneo leggero, scorrevole. L'ho letto volentieri.… (mais)
