Resenhas

Huge Content Note for this novel for child abuse, sexual assault, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, addiction and mental health discussion and portrayal.

That said, Levy does an incredible job of capturing Faith's voice and the book/diary feels very authentic and in-character. The story is a great look at things that are hinted at in the beginning of Season 3 and just overall very well written and engaging.

I got exactly what was advertised by the title, a bit of sexy, with some serious dark and weird bits. I really enjoyed this story, and would have loved to have read more about Anaïs and her misadventures through Paris in the 1930s. The story moves along nicely, there is believable dialog, and being written in the style of an apparently lost diary of Anaïs Nin was the icing on the cake. If there is a downside, it was that it was too short. I would love to see Mr. Levy return to this at some point in the future.… (mais)

Well written and with a seemingly fascinating premise. I found it difficult to connect emotionally, however. Disappointed that I did not love this book, as I think that the concept was unique and interesting.

Enjoyed the book, though some of the transitions to different POVs felt strained / unnecessary (to be clear, these changes only occurred at sectional junctures, but I wondered at the thematic transitions).
Overall, a little more "fantasy" than the "magical realism" I was expecting, but very interesting.
