Fern is a princess wannabe. She travels in a book to go ask a real princess what it's like. When she finally meets the princess, the princess says she rather be surrounded by friends and a good book. This makes fern realize that she has just that. This can teach children that they should enjoy what they have. I loved the characters and the illustrations in this story. It was very amusing and it catches the reader's attention.

This story is about a little girl who dreams of becoming a princess like the ones that she reads about in fairytales. Her baby sitter has her hands full and so she decides to read a bed time story herself. She wants to ask a princess what it is really like being a princess, and the princess replies that she would rather not be treated like a princess and stay in bed and read stories with her friends. This made Fern realize that she has been given what others may want. This sends the message to young readers that they should be content and grateful for what they have because you don’t know what the other person is going through.… (mais)

Meh. I liked the lesson about making your work fun, but it was kind of a lame book.

Summary: This story begins with a little girl being told by her babysitter that every princess story ends the same. SHe decides to find out but when she opens the book she goes inside. She goes on an adventure coming across a prince frog, a wolf with three pigs, a troll under a bridge, a giant, and finally makes it to the castle. She goes inside to find the princess reading a story to lots of characters she has already met on her journey. She speaks to the princes and then realizes she wants to be home, she leaves the book and climbs into bed.

Uses: I believe that this book would just be one I read for fun for my class, or to help them create their own fantasy stories.

Genre: Fantasy- I believe this book clearly fits into the fantasy genre because it is about a little girl who enters into a story book she is reading. She goes on many adventures throughout the book, even speaking to fairies and a princess.
