In "Designing Quilts is Easy" by Wayne Kollinger, we learn to use a simple nine patch block as our jumping off point for great quilt designs. In working through the 'What If' scenarios, Wayne teaches us to ask questions during our design process. If we are not happy with a block's position, change it! This is one of the most useful design books on the shelf today. It is geared for the beginner and experienced quilt designer alike and would be a wonderful addition to any quilter's sewing room!
I have been reviewing the book, "Designing Quilts is Easy" by Wayne Kollinger.
This is one of the best quilt design books I have ever read! After beginning the first chapter, I became really enthusiastic from his ideas and processes! The book is easy to understand and FUN! I wanted to read as many chapters as I could before I took off into my own exploration, but the more I read, the better Kollinger's ideas became.
Of course, I had my doubts about being able to do this, but that evening, I sat down with my Electric Quilt 7 and began to play. I'm sure it's not an award-winner, but it is acceptable to me, and I look forward to doing more and also, trying to improve the one I've started.
I believe even a beginner that would like to try designing can do this! This book would be a wonderful addition to any quilter's library!… (mais)
