Nellie Kirkham (1897–1979)

Nellie Kirkham was the pseudonym of Mrs. J.H.D. Myatt , a longtime resident of and expert on Derbyshire, England. She was the author of numerous authoritative books and articles on Derbyshire history, legends, manor lands, and lead mining. She also wrote poetry, plays, and some science fiction, including the time-travel historical novel Unrest of Their Time (1938). In the original edition of the book, contemporary events are printed in black and the Elizabethan portions of the tale are printed in red.
