Hidden Treasure is the second book I’ve read by V.B. Kildaire. The first was a gorgeous historical called The Desire for Dearborne. Hidden Treasure is a fantasy novel set in the fictional country of Jarvoct. Nobleman and soldier Jaxom and Lord Dorian Pelias set off on a journey through the wilds to recover a treasure for their respective countries. Adventure and manlove ensue. The world building was good, but at times it felt a little barren. The romance between the two leads was also slow to unfold, however it made their relationship seem a little more well developed and the tension was nicely done. If you’re into long horse journeys with cute ponies, swords and smoochy stuff, check it out here.

I liked this book overall. In particular, I liked the way the relationship between the characters evolved slowly and realistically. I would have liked more world-building in order to get a better view of the setting. I am hoping this book ends up a series, because the ending didn't make it clear to me where the relationship was headed.

Leander and Julien are so great together. The have to heart their love because it is forbidden but they can't stay away from each other. I've read it several times and love it more after each read. I highly recommend this book.

This is one of the best Regency Gay Novels I have read in a long time.
The characters are well written, the language tru tot he Era and the description's of London during this time are captivating.

Leander Mayfield is the only surviving son of a poor farmer... or so he believes, until the day he learns he is in fact the new Earl of Dearborne. Still recovering from a lingering illness, the sensitive young man travels to Great Britain to claim his estate and embarks upon a bewildering new life.

Julien Sutcliffe, the Earl of Blackstone, is suffering from boredom. He's tired with all the finery and wealth and wonders about him. He has been accustomed to hiring his companions, but his latest Escort holds no mystery for him any longer. Then he meets this refreshingly naive American Earl, newly arrived in England, and suddenly the world comes alive around him again.

Irresistibly drawn to one another, Julien finds himself besotted, and Leander is equally smitten. I love how Julien takes his time with Leander, slowly seducing him, and the age difference really gives the story of the young, inexperienced Virgin meeting the older, wiser Lover a true REGENCY atmosphere. But just when they think they may have finally found happiness together, Julien and Leander discover that something--or someone--is determined to separate them permanently.
This was a realy page turner for me. I loved it.
It made me want to find a stately mansion with a big library, a cozy fire and a comfortable big chair and a good book! Just like Leander did so often in this terrific story.
