While a fine compendium of technical and administrative detail on the Inter-War French static defense system, when the authors try to expand their earlier work by Praeger into a consideration of French defense policy through the prism of static defense this work comes off as being half-baked. Those looking for a concise examination of the Maginot Line would probably be best advised to acquire William Allcorn's Osprey booklet on the subject.
