Although I have never played Lacrosse nor do I tend to, I received a free copy of this book. In this book you will learn the fundamentals of the game. It is a very detailed and well put together book. I would imagine anyone interested in this sport would benefit from reading this book.

This was a very interesting read. As someone who does not play Lacrosse and is only mildly familiar with the game this was a very good resource for me to learn more about the game. Kaley and Donovan have created an intensive and detailed book about the sport. This would be a good book for pros and novices alike. The pictures and diagrams are well selected and illustrate the information in the book very well.

The authors aim to provide the readers of this book with a set of plays and drills that lacrosse players can use in practice to make certain moves become second nature: crouching, turning, skirting, twisting. They feel very strongly that players need to master the basics in order to master this game, and that coaches do their players a disservice by avoiding these basics.

The book is definitely written for coaches more than players or viewers of the game, and the young coach I showed the book to was very enthusiastic about it after quickly skimming the book.

Too bad the writing throughout this book is awkward, and I found the diagrams difficult to follow, so I didn't get much out of it. While reading, I felt strongly that these two authors are accustomed to explaining the drills verbally to their players, but not in English. I may be wrong, but I don't think English is their first language or even the main language they use on a daily basis. This book definitely needs an editor with a heavy hand who is willing to re-write the text to make it easier to understand. The book could also have been helped by some photographs, even simple, black & white ones.

Still, I recognize the potential value of this book to a coach who could probably more easily decipher the diagrams and written instructions than I. It looks like the more basic drills would work with young players, while the more complex drills would work well while coaching older kids or adults.

I'm grateful for the chance to read this book -- lacrosse is a beautiful game and I wish it was more popular here in Texas.

I thoroughly enjoy the game of lacrosse by sadly did not know much about the rules of the game. This book really helped in that area but also gave coaching tips and drills on how to develop better players and techniques for lacrosse play.
