Describes the efforts of Percy Pilcher to perfect a powered glider in the late 1800s. Percy Pilcher is known chiefly as the first hang-glider pilot in Great Britain. He died in 1899 when the tail of his glider failed (3 years after the death of Otto Lilienthal).
