This is a topic that is very deep, with a lot of issues, and is something I think about a lot (and a lot lately too). It has a lot of things, issues, and surrounding myths to it, and suicide is obviously not something to take lightly. For yourself, and/or for others.

There is deep repercussions just merely by thinking about it, and learning about it, its causes, its prevention, and methodology for rehabilitation is the best process in understanding it.

This book has a lot of good information. It is written a bit bland, boringly so, and dry, and some of the material may be dated (written in late 80s), but, overall the information is good, and needs to be read and understood.… (mais)

A satisfactory once-over-lightly on flight by an established school science director whose career has included posts at Columbia's Childhood Center and the Shipley School. A personalized narrative puts the reader in the pilot's position and the flights he/she goes on rise from a monoplane to a moon-bound rocket. All possible essentials, for so short a book, are well presented, and its unique contribution is its over-all view instead of a particular aspect, of all flight. But for more grounding in special branches look at the books suggested in the bibliography.… (mais)

A bit old-fashioned (all Caucasian children, ingredients include esoteric items like moth flakes) but still valuable. Doesn't over-simplify, not too babyish. More science than craft.

I did not like this book because it was way too long for an elementary school student. The book is over 100 pages and then their are help hotline pages and a glossary and index in the back. I do like that there is a glossary and an index to help the students out with words or quickly getting to the part in this book they want to read. I also like how there are ways to get help provided in the back of the book because that really could come to use for some students. There are only a few pictures through out this entire chapter book and everything is in black and white which makes it very boring. It does however, give very detailed information about smoking and what it can do to you. The main idea is to inform the reader about what smoking is, why people smoke, why it is bad for people to smoke, and the causes and effects of smoking. It also provides information about secondhand smoking as well. For someone who is interested in this topic, I think it is a good book however, this is not a book I would enjoy reading.… (mais)
