Draper Hunt (read 21 Apr 1992) This is a 1969 biography which is really well-done, although it spends little time on his private life. Hamlin was born Aug 27, 1809, in Paris Hill, Maine, and died July 4, 1891, at Bangor, Maine. He had an interesting career, and almost became President--if he'd been renominated what a different history we'd have had if Andrew Johnson had not been president! This book was good to read; it spends no time on the military aspects of the Civil War.… (mais)
