A fun read that is about a family where the dad is the full time homemaker and mom is the full time breadwinner. After ten years of staying at home dad is getting restless and the results are sometimes laugh out loud funny. The one child in the family, a 13 year old girl, is way to good to be true but she, her school and her English teacher give the plot an interesting twist.

Enjoyable, with interesting scenario. Linc gave up his business to move cross country with his wife's promotion. After spending some time getting his house and his daughter settled, he finds it's not as easy to return as he thought --nor is it easy to stay at home.

Ad Hudler's humorous look at what it's like to be a stay-at-home parent is a quick and easy read with unexpected depth. In the book, Linc Menner and his wife, Jo move from California to New York so that Jo can become CEO of a hospital. Linc becomes the primary caregiver for their three-year-old daughter, Violet, and the book plots Linc's first year in that role.

Having been both a "working mother" and a stay-at-home mom, I very much enjoyed reading about the woman's role from a man's perspective -- particularly from the viewpoint of a man immersed in the woman's role. Ad Hudler is spot-on and as he relates the trials, rewards, insecurities, and challenges associated with the job of being a housewife/husband. It's especially nice that he includes recipes for the food mentioned throughout the book (although I wish they were all in one spot rather than attached to the chapter with which they are associated).

The character of Linc is a likable guy despite being a control-freak know-it-all when it comes to running a household. Every reader may not appreciate the scorn with which Linc views certain parenting/cooking/cleaning styles; however, if you're secure in your own methods and enjoy a fun yet insightful read, be sure to pick this book up. I'll definitely be reading Hudler's other books!

A fun read, by a Georgia author, thinly (very thinly) veiled account of life in Macon GA.
