This book was a lot of fun to read because I spent most of the time thinking "Oh, so that's the Spanish word for [any given linguistic term]," and I enjoy that. I thought it was a relatively easy read, but again, I am familiar with linguistic jargon so if you were coming into this cold as a non-native Spanish speaker and a layman, you would likely have a much different experience.
It seemed to be written with English speakers in mind; many of the examples of linguistic phenomena were also explained with English.
The topics covered where phonology, morphology, syntax, history of the Spanish language and linguistic variation (which mostly focused on Spanish in contact with other languages).
All in all, a good introductory book or a good way for linguists to bridge into Spanish.… (mais)
