Pages 105-114 in this history of the Western Region Football League (WRFL), formerly the Footscray District Football League (FDFL), cover the Hammerheads team who were the stars of a football reality television program. The team included one female player, Debbie Lee, one of the greats of Women’s football in Australia. The inclusion of Debbie Lee in the team playing with and against all male teams resulted in much debate and tension within the program’s story, and within the WDFL. This history of the Western Region Football League (WRFL), formerly the Footscray District Football League (FDFL), based in the western suburbs of Melbourne, is more of an annotated statistical summary of each season, than a narrative history. There is an outline of major structural changes to the league, and a series of recollections by various league identities. The period covered is 1931 to 2006 but the 1960-1999 period has the most coverage. The 131 pages of appendices has comprehensive statistics right down to the best and fairest winners for the nine year olds competition. Pages 105-114 cover the Hammerheads team who were the stars of a football reality television program, which included a female player, Debbie Lee, playing with and against males.… (mais)

Rodney Eade played in four VFL/AFL premiership teams with Hawthorn and later became a highly successful coach of the Sydney Swans and then the Western Bulldogs in the AFL. He was later appointed as a football and coaching strategist at Collingwood. In 2015 he became coach of the Gold Coast Suns AFL club.

A series of interviews with father and son VFL and AFL footballers, none of which are particularly engrossing. If anything, the highlight of "Like Father, Like Son" is the list of fathers and sons who have played senior AFL and VFL football. Perhaps we can look forward to seeing the sequel "Like Father, like Daughter".
