Juvenile delinquent and reform school escapee Jody (Ann-Margret) ends up at the house of political hopeful David Patton (John Forsythe). With threats of crying rape Jody manipulates David into a uncomfortable situation that only gets worse when she calls up her delinquent pals and invite them over to David's house. Directed and co-written by Douglas Heyes "Kitten With a Whip" is full of subtle innuendo and clever touches of black humour. The story of a naïve, but good man, being manipulated by a psychotic sex kitten is a touch far-fetched but despite that is cleverly handled. Heyes delivers plenty of tense moments and there is a sub-Hitchcockian feel to a number of the situations he develops. A collection of modern-day fairy tales.

There are a few bad episodes, and at its best, it's never as good as the best of season 1. It might be more consistently good on average, though. Or maybe I just enjoyed it more because I wasn't mistakenly expecting science fiction this time.

Although uneven (several of the early suspense stories can be safely skipped), Thriller presented some of the best horror and suspense stories on television during its two-year run. It drew heavily from the pulp magazine Weird Tales, and adapted stories by Robert Bloch (who also scripted numerous episodes), Cornell Woolrich, and Robert E. Howard.
