This anthology is set early in the story of Roj Blake and his crew [about two or three episodes into the first season] where the crew are still getting used to each other and Blake's rather quixotic campaign against the Federation. The first story takes us into traditional realms with the team running a raid against a planet's manufacturing plants as they provide pursuit ships for the Federation. The second tale starts off on a deserted space station as Blake and the crew work out why the Federation deserted it. They found out why in a rip-roaring chase through the galaxy (and the presence of an atmosphere is not what keeps your feet on the ground!). The third tale takes place on a world that the Federation are in the process of abandoning. All the new president pro tem need to make everything kosher is the acknowledgement of the galaxy's premier revolution that the election declaring him the actual President was fair and free but Blake sends Avon and Cally in his place and neither of them are as trusting...

All in all, the stories catch the initial friction between the individuals as they are ground into a team though 'Berserker', the middle story did feel a bit too long.… (mais)
