Dark and brooding but strangely captivating

(I wrote an important review, but of course something went wrong and none of my information on this book was saved. Now I'll have to start over at some point, but it will never be as good as the first go. So irritated.)

Leave me breathless? Only if it's from the loud "Pffff!" at the ridiculousness of this story. Psychological thriller? It's about as thrilling as the Reader's Digest.

I started reading Nordic noir, and was pleased to find this beautifully written romantic tale of two loners living in the same house in the country, but not quite sure whether to trust each other. The characters are well developed and the plot is very engaging. My only regret is that the author's other books have not been translated to English.
