I really disliked this book. Even though the subject is of great interest to me, it is poorly written, badly edited and definitely not proofread at all. Bad all around and I am positive there are much better books out there on the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Less than half way through this book, I realized that Hanson had an agenda in mind when writing this book, one I disagree with. I was looking for factual information and instead I found myself being preached at. Setting aside religious differences, I did learn some interesting information about the history of the Scrolls from the book. Once you set aside the author's religious preferences, however, there is very little left.
