A Whisper To A Scream (The Sociopath Diaries, #1)
Too freaked out...give me some time to compose something thats actually a review and not horrified text ramblings.
The plot is interesting but the story is not really evolving, instead getting a bit tiresome because it's always the same she experiences and you don't get new information why she's in the asylum soon enough to be satisfying. There were a few surprises at the end but then it also ended a bit with a cliffhanger, some things left to be explained in the sequel.
I liked the writing, the plot was meaty and the characters were all believable and interesting. However, the first 90% of the book kind of drags, it's not in 'real time' but close to it. Then suddenly a huge chunk of time has passed, and things start reading like a flashback, and I was left scratching my head thinking my Kindle malfunctioned and sent me a few chapters ahead! So, that aspect really sucked, too slow, then jarringly to far ahead of itself.
I also didn't like the Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde aspect of the book either. One minute the guy is all cold and aloof, the next he's rushing to be a part of her birthday and the next they're sharing a bed! In the same chapter! It's really ridiculous!
However, I really did like the book on the whole, and I would definitely have started the next installment had it been written.… (mais)
