Kiev: A Portrait, 1800-1917 de Michael F. Hamm
A well researched and fact filled history of the city. Unfortunately, even for this avid reader of textbooks and history, this book was far too dry to enjoy despite the authors obvious erudition. That said it is a well balanced work in that focuses on the both the cultural and political aspects of life for the various community's and ethnicity's living in the area in this time period (1800-1917). I may well use this work as a reference and I am glad to have it on my shelf
