Great book. Reply to adb42: Not a chance, unless they learned from their American cousins the naughty way of "decorating" the landscape.

A thoroughly enjoyable read, sequel to To the Edge of the Sea, where Christina Hall recounts her days as a teacher in a tiny, remote hamlet in South Uist. I wonder if they ever finished the toiletrolls in Glendale School...

A thoroughly enjoyable read, with a healthy dose of humour. Life in South Uist as it was in the first half of the 20th century, with characters larger than life.

The Road to Glen Spean is the third in a series of books about life in South Uist (Western Isles of Scotland). In this volume, Mrs Hall describes her life after she leaves the island and travels the UK and the world with her husband. The link with Uist is maintained, through descriptions of the family.
