Boss was so interesting to me because from the beginning it felt real, from the descriptions of Amari's release from prison, to where he came from, and his family life it all felt like you were part of the atmosphere. Amari grew up in poverty but he was super smart and one day at his 9 to 5 he got extremely discouraged because his boss would not let him grow in the company citing excuse after excuse, so he did something not so smart that landed him in prison. The time in prison allowed him to think and plot. Gianna comes from a ruthless mafia family, she is strong and amazing but she wants more of the mafia life her dad created, they won't allow it because she is female. She has a plan, but what both characters don't expect is to find each other and in each other not only do they find passion and love but together their plans benefit them both and they could rule together. I felt like I was watching some kind of action movie and I know some people won't like how raw and gritty Amari is because the way he talks etc. but he is on a level of genius and it makes the story feel more authentic. I also loved this quote from the author because it sums Amari up to a T if readers can't relate to him and how he speaks, "Be you. No matter where you are, or who you're around. Be you. It's not your job to make yourself uncomfortable, just so people who are different from you can feel more comfortable around you. If you don't represent for you, nobody will. This was a very unique read for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a quick read but that does not take from the story at all. We have Sean who is dealing with issues in his relationship, so he goes to Dr. Colson. Dr. Colson is amazing at his job as a relationship therapist and he helps Sean tremendously, yet in his own personal life he makes some questionable decisions regarding his relationship. I loved how we got to see both sides of Dr. Colson, how he helped others, and how he had a darker side that needed control. I’m interested to see how the rest of the stories will play out because his friend Ava is a very crazy lady and I’m curious as to what will happen.

Wow I can’t explain how much I am loving these books, but I will try my best to. In this book we continue long with therapist Malcolm as we get more in depth to his own personal life and we also get a new set of patients he is helping. It starts with Brandon and Tessa having relationship issues after being together for 2 years, Brandon is a jerk and Tessa is use to doing what others expect her to do so things don’t seem to work out for them, but Tessa continues her therapy with Malcolm. Tessa is out to find herself and what she likes or does not like, Malcolm helps her along the way being a great supportive person helping her along her path while also dealing with his own personal issues. Malcolm was a fantastic therapist and he knew exactly what he wanted out of his relationship and life in general and while I don’t think he handled Ava too well because let’s face it she is bat crap crazy. I did love seeing how someone who is so strong, powerful, and confident that helped others easily didn’t exactly have his own life in order, but he was trying. These books keep amazing me and each one I love that we see new patients with new issues for Malcolm to help them through all while watching him try to navigate his own life. It’s a refreshing take on romance novels and very unique, I also love how the author tries to empower women and say that it is ok to be who you want to be so forget what others have to think about how you live your life.

Intense!!

Wow!! I’m not sure how it keeps getting better and better but each book has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions and learning for me. It’s still a very unique series and each book follows different paths. I loved the couple in this story because not all couples that face what Eli and Demi are facing are willing to try, but Dr. Malcolm steps in again to try and guide another couple while they try to find trust and love again. I loved how we got to see a different take on infidelity between partners and how it does not always mean an end but maybe a way to rediscover each other, learn to forgive, and fight for love. It’s not easy for them especially for Demi as she has to make the hardest decision of her relationship, but it was a unique look at love and I enjoyed watching them try to figure it out. Also Dr Malcolm trying to navigate his own personal life and the issues he has been facing was interesting because the turn of events and crazy Ava showing up again was fun to read about. I can’t wait for more and am very excited to see what journey the next couple and Dr Malcolm take us on.… (mais)
