This 403 page volume is a great reference for Meadowood. Functional categories of artifcats are procurement, processing, storage, manufacture, ceremonial and habitation with each one charted (p.12-15) in a detailed "Activity-Artifact" set of relationships. A helpful schematic is presented (p.18) for the development of Meadowood flint tool types. It is nice to see a Great Lakes Watershed perspective with mapped examples such as the Rosebary site in the Petawawa River Watershed in Algonquin Park, Ontario. The artifact photographs from pages 387 to 403, although small, provide a helpful reference for other potential Meadowood sites that might be encountered in the Petawawa River Watershed.… (mais)
