I enjoyed this book because the illustrations truly enhanced the story. This book is about different scenarios around a town that the reader has to try and guess what is going on based on the illustrations. For example, on one page the illustration shows a picture of the outside of a pizza shop with shadows of people flipping a pizza in a window. The text reads, "What's going on in there? Are Dino and his brothers making a pizza?" The reader then turns the page which shows an inside view of the pizza shop. The text then reads, "No, they don't make pizza here on Thursdays. Today, Dino, Bronto, Stego, and Pterry are building a dinosaur." The illustration shows them building a dinosaur with its large bones. Each of the illustrations that show the outside of a building always provide a small hint for whats actually going on inside. For example, for the pizza shop, the outside brick had small bones carved into it, which gives a hint to the reader that whatever they are doing inside involves bones (making the dinosaur). The big idea behind this book is that readers can use their imaginations and clues from the illustrations to make silly predictions.… (mais)
