Walter Wink: Collected Readings de Henry French
Although I cannot agree with all of Wink's theological ideas, I resonate with his emphasis on the social aspects of the Gospel and hoe Jesus continually spoke out against the Domination system that is inherent in human society. I find his ideas about nonviolent resistance to be very valuable and I agree with him that it is the duty of a Christian to fight injustice.
NCLA Review - The author, a retired Lutheran pastor and professor, takes the reader on a journey to understand fully the depth of prayer and its importance in everyone's spiritual life. Pastor French provides the explanations, biblical references, helpful hints and guidance to a daily prayer life that naturally and willingly turns to God and Christ through the Holy Spirit. The book concludes with questions for reflection, journaling, and ideas for practice. There is also an excellent bibliography and reference notes section. This is a slim volume that every Christian library should have for personal or church use; a book that all of us need to read on our spiritual journey. This should be placed beside Ole Hallesby's classic, Prayer. Rating: 4 —BS… (mais)
