Lisa Freed

Carter was Ashley's high school History teacher. She was attracted to him then, but he did not feel the same way. Ashley went to college and changed from being Goth to being herself. Now she is back and works to get him to notice her by asking to share a table with him. He does not know her, but agrees to share a table with her. They talk and he asks for her number. They begin dating and develop deeper feelings for each other. Then Carter finds out she was his student. What happens to their feelings? What happens to their relationship? Can it stand the truth?

I enjoyed this story. I wish it were longer because I would have liked to see what happens between them later. I liked Carter and Ashley. I wish she would have been honest from the beginning, but I understand why she felt she couldn't. I can understand Carter's hurt. I would have liked to see what we weren't told during the story, such as, how did they recover.

Melissa sends Gretchen over to her dad's so her dad won't be alone as he grieves the death of his best friend and business partner. Gretchen has always liked Melissa's dad and that like has turned to love over the years. Nick, Melissa's dad, has been attracted to Gretchen since she turned 18. He feels because of their age difference nothing will come of it.

I enjoyed this story. I liked Nick and Gretchen. They were made for each other. Melissa is funny as she tries to be delicate but finally has to come straight out and tell them they are no secret. They have their conflict but after being miserable for a while come up with a solution that works for them all.

The story is cute. I look forward to reading more of Lisa Freed.… (mais)
