Dior Glamour: 1952-1962 de Natasha Fraser-Cavassoni
Glorious photographs by Mark Shaw of Dior's collections in the 1950s and 1960s. Of these photos I thought Dior was at his best in the 1950s. There are many other Dior books if you want to pursue the subject. I also own Dior by Richard Avedon, one of our great photographers, which also has glorious photos.
A lot of research went into this account of one of Hollywood's most notorious, enigmatic and best-loved producers. Though the writing lets the book down somewhat, it has an agreeably gossipy style and abundant behind-the-scenes info.
