Mara Van Fleet

This is a story about three little mermaids who have a tea party and invite their ocean friends to come along. Each friend brings something to the party. The book also deals with sensory because it has objects to touch that go along with the text. It is very interactive and keeps children engaged. Also, the reader counts to ten as the pages turn and the guests of the party come and go. The illustrations of the story bring everything together and really make it complete. This story is good for children two years through first grade. This story would be great in a classroom to:
-teach children counting skills
-help with sensory
-model rhyming
-keep children engaged
