Teen Sci Fi 90's Book em Name that Book (Setembro 2012)

Similar standard to the first book. Quite enjoyable, entertaining reading.
For a while it felt like this trilogy would be similar to the original Star Wars.
ie, The first book finishes with the end of a relatively minor mission and the second setting up suspense and a cliffhanger for the third.
Instead this second book finished similar to the first and it appears that young Tal has accomplished all he needs to.
It makes me wonder where the third book will go? Probably setting up for the next series?… (mais)

I found this quite enjoyable.
The first book in the trilogy seemed to introduce some new characters but was not particularly memorable. This book is really setting up the characters and action for the next book(s).
In the previous book I was wondering about the introduction of Tad & Zane and how they were going to figure in the future. Seems like Feist had similar wonderings and introduced Jommy as their third wheel who is quickly taking over their storyline as he has a lot more personality about him while the other two I find underwhelming.
This book is building up the anticipation. Interesting new world and society entering the game. Multiple players and a. feeling that they will all be involved in the final climax.
Hope there is at least a mini-resolution in the final book of this trilogy. I think it's the last one I own and I probably want a short break to read something else before tackling the next chapters in the story

I've read this straight off the back of the preceding Talon of the SilverHawk series (or whatever it was called).
I gave those books 4 or 5 stars, but this one I struggled with a bit.
Presumably the young boy characters introduced in this book will do something important in later books, as will the other new characters.
Talon, Kaspar, Caleb, etc from the last few books were central, without any of them being a real focus of this book. Pug, Miranda & Nakor also prominent enough.
I felt it built up towards the end, but despite Feist trying to keep the evil magician's identity a secret until the final climax I found it fairly predictable.

As with the first 2 books in this "trilogy" easy and enjoyable reading.
However it felt more like the first 2 were a duology and this book links it to the next trilogy.
I started the Conclave of Shadows about 20 years after reading the Serpentwar saga, so I can only vaguely recall the past history and characters brought up.

I like the story but found Kaspar to be a rather bland character. He seemed to be more real and almost likeable as a villain in the previous 2 books. In this book he just seems to go with the flow and get dragged along without making too many decisions himself.
Fair enough he has woken from the spell he was under and perplexed by his previous actions but I find his switch from villain to a basically good man a little too quick and easy. As is the forgiveness and acceptance by all the people whose lives he tried his hardest to completely ruin for no real reason.

Anyway onto the next trilogy....
