- Brian Farrell was an Irish academic, broadcaster and journalist. He retired from academic life in the mid 1990s having served as Associate Professor of Politics since 1985. He had been a member of the UCD teaching staff since 1955. During his time there he published a number of books and biographies. He wrote articles for the Irish Press and the Irish Independent newspapers and presented several current affairs programmes on RTE notably 7 Days, Today Tonight and Prime Time.
