While the National Archaeological Museum in Florence is making great strides towards modernizing, right now it is still organized on the 19th century principle that if you were coming to a museum you were an expert who knew what you were looking at and wanted to see a large collection of similar objects grouped all together. There are few labels and most of them unhelpful. So you really need this guide if you're going to get much out of the museum. It's also a nice remembrance.
