The Saint who would be Santa Claus : the true life… de Adam C. English
A good but brief look into early Church History before it became huge. Also a look into Santa Claus and the man behind him St. Nicholas. He comes across as a great man.
Pretty interesting hagiography of a saint the RC church is marginalizing. Although some authorities place him at the Council of Nicea, other, later, sources deny this. Some later sources confuse this St. Nicholas with a different eponymous Nick.
I loved that, to preserve his body from the great Islamic onslaught, his body was removed from the cathedral in Myra, Turkey, and re-entombed in the basilica in Bari, Italy. Bari is the town in Sicily that Nick's parents are from.
It was repetitious at times, so I subtracted one star.… (mais)
