Ed Emberley

2.5 stars // I like that this book opens up conversations about feelings, but I'm always confused by the green monster. Being scary isn't an emotion, and I don't know that I want to encourage my children to try and act scary.

A good book to read to children who are afraid of monsters, the dark, etc. A great way to make them feel like they're in control of their fears.

This book is for beginner readers or for students who are just learning how to read.
It is about some mice who are out ice skating and the shapes they can make in the ice. It promotes imagination and creativity.
I would absolutely recommend this book for any early childhood classrooms for students to not only practice reading but learn about shapes as well.

The Ed Emberley doodle books are the books I use to introduce my kids to drawing books, and I have a lot of happy memories of sitting and drawing with Emily & Charlotte. And also some stressed memories of Elliot's perfectionist instinct running rampant, but hey, that's parenthood.
