This book was about a little girl named Kaity who's mother is getting married. Kaity doesn't like the idea off her mother getting married at all! Kaity is very concerned throughout the book about how things will change after her mother marries Ben. how her and her mother won't have picnics at the beach, or stay up late on Saturday nights watching movies. How she doesn't want Ben to see her in her pajamas or that he might eat all of her cereal. Kaity was allowed to invite anyone to the wedding. so she invited the whole class and her teacher. The wedding ended up being really fun and she saw how happy her mom was. Then came the honeymoon and Kaity got upset all over again, how they are leaving her. Kaity's mom sits down with her and tells her that yes things will be different but they will still continue to do the same things together and even new things with Ben! this book is a great read for kids who have parents getting divorced and then re married, or in this case getting married to someone new without already having a parent. I liked that it showed Kaity's character development, how she was so upset about the idea of her mother getting married but in the end she was becoming more accepting to it.… (mais)

Like many children around the world, they worry about change and how it will affect their lives. When Katy's mother is set to marry her fiance Ben, Katy is afraid of what that will mean to the close relationship she has with her mother. When Katy sees how happy her mother is on the day of the wedding, she lets go of her 'what about me' attitude and puts on a brave face. After the ceremony, Katy shares her feelings with her mother and is reassured that everything will be alright. The message to children being that communication is extremely important when we are feeling stressed or scared, that sometimes just saying the fear out loud can help us feel better.… (mais)

A young girl, Katy, is having trouble accepting her mother's remarriage. She thinks about all the times they have together and how her mother will replace her with Ben. She later finds out that her mother plans on still having times with just the two of them and sometimes Ben as well. I think this is a good book because children in these times experience the same feelings as her. It shows that acceptance is key to a good relationship with both parents step or biological.

This is the story of a little girl named Katy whose mother is getting remarried. Katy is not excited about having a stepfather. She feels like things are going just find with her and her mother, and having Ben around will just make things change. I think this book will be great for kids who are experiencing this in their own lives and show them that what they are feeling is normal.
