Was it worth it?) If it had been a page over four, no.

Do you ever add a book on Goodreads just so you can give it a disgustingly low rating? Because that's what I just did. Stoller has reminded me why I must never put blind faith in the e-book market. Bravo, Stoller. Bravo indeed.

The thing is, I really have nothing to complain about. The story is awful, yes, and could have just as easily been written by a fourth grader. The characters are flat. The "devil" in question could have just as easily been replaced with cardboard. But what else do you expect from a market as oversaturated as the ebook one? I guess I'm more upset that I didn't discover a great, underground author in Stoller than anything else. At the very least, it ends in four pages.… (mais)

Really?

I can only imagine this was written either for or by a kid under the age of 12. As a previous reviewer pointed out, severe editing is needed. It reads more like a campfire story told at boy or cub scouts.
I wouldn't recommend, unless you're a 8 year old

This story is a couple hundred words long, and yet has glaring issues that could have been remedied easily enough. The main issue I found with this story is that for a majority of the story it's told in the first person. But them, as soon as the dialogue starts, this is forgotten and replaced with the third person point of view. Another thing that jumped out at me is the overuse of the word "castle". For the limited word count in this flash fiction piece, words are precious. The fact that the narrator lives in a castle is drilled into the reader too often, and didn't seem to be used as a device to establish the setting. One or two occurrences would have sufficed.

May seem a bit harsh to pick out those points, but there wasn't much else to the story anyway. It was a straightforward telling, not at all showing, story. Adding a little more effort into refining it may have added something to what I read.

Grabbed a few of these short flash fiction pieces from Stoller. This one disappointed me like the first I read earlier today ([b:Grim Reaper|18652796|Grim Reaper|Drac Von Stoller|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1384803738s/18652796.jpg|19211146]). Maybe some of the others have stronger, more developed concepts, not sure if I'll check them out though. So far this one seems like an ok premise for a story, but not really a story on its own.
